We’ve all had it. You’ve just made a new acquaintance, or a number of new acquaintii (learn it, love it, use it – that plural is here to stay!), and inevitably they’ll want to know what it is you actually do with your time in real life. Being a student gets you past the first, [...]

If you haven’t read this post by Janet Stemwedel at Adventures In Ethics and Science yet, you should. It will make you angry, it will make you sick, and it may make you want to take action and have your voice heard. I heartily recommend joining the chorus on this one. Others have covered this [...]

The first O-Week C&S day at Melbourne Uni was today from 10am til 3pm. For those of you who don’t know, I’m currently the Treasurer of the University of Melbourne Secular Society (UMSS), so the past few days have been crazy for me. Yesterday my house was moderately taken over by committee members as we [...]

No, not everyone in my home town is an idiot. In fact, most of the people in my home town are definitely not idiots. But whoever thought that this would be a good idea, they are definitely idiots. You don’t solve alcohol related violence on the streets by refusing to serve shots; instead you just get [...]

Hi all, and welcome to Divisible By Pi! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a physics and maths student living in Melbourne; as such much of the content on this blog will be related to physics and maths. That’s by no means all that this blog (or my life) is about though [...]
