Things that I may have forgotten to mention…

So, I’m sitting here, busily trying to get an article done up for my section in “The Skeptic” magazine, when I suddenly realise: Holy crap. I forgot to tell my bloggees that I have a regular section in The Skeptic magazine now. Which, as far as ‘oopsies’ go, is kind of a big one. My first [...]

I’ve just gone through a Twitter update…

If anybody who sees this blog here and also on Twitter notices any irregularities, just let me know. Had to change the way updates get done just then…

March for gay rights tomorrow!

Equal Love are holding more marches around Australia for marriage equality tomorrow — if you’re in Melbourne you should definitely head down to support the cause; it’s a sad truth nowadays that politicians are more likely to take notice of popular opinion, rather than what’s necessarily right. Health permitting I’ll try to be there — [...]

Happy birthday to my mum!

I’ll never tell any of you how old she is.

This post is for the three people who HAVEN’T figured out why I’m busy yet.

In short: I’m now the President of the University of Melbourne Secular Society. I’m currently in the process of getting the new committee into gear for [...]

I know, I know — I’ve been bad.

It’s official: Proposition 8 has been overturned in California. The judge in the case ruled that Proposition 8 violated the US Constitution’s equal protection clause, and stated that, [T]he evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples. The SciBling diaspora reunite!

When the Scienceblogs network started fracturing a few weeks ago I expressed concern that the individual blogs would, while remaining individually popular, lose the power inherent having a social networking infrastructure behind them. It turns out my fears were unfounded.

I WAS planning on getting some work done last night.

Instead, I got sidetracked writing up a sooper-speshal article on the young skeptical movement…which means that I also didn’t manage to get any substantive blogging done like I had planned (yes, sadly my priorities are still study first, blogging later). So instead, check out this promo for the production of Cosi that my housemate Matt [...]
